OUR MISSION:
Our Resilient Community ALC (ORCA) is a self-directed micro-school for homeschool students. We center the needs and experiences of students who have been left out of mainstream traditional education. We celebrate authenticity, justice, culture, and expanding the concept of education to include passion-led, playful, and meaningful experiences. If you feel like there’s nowhere your student belongs, we are here to offer the alternative.
We meet Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 3pm with options for Full and Part-Time attendance.
As a cultural hub in our local area, we provide opportunities for artistic collaboration, community resources, and justice-oriented fellowship.

What is a Resilient Community?
A community that is resilient is able to respond to and recover from adversity. As a resilient community, we prioritize the social, emotional, mental, and physical health of our members and are dedicated to being a resource, both as a space for building ourselves up as individuals, and as one in which we strengthen the bonds between our members. Our community is made of people; our resilience is for them.
Our Values:
At Our Resilient Community Center and Our Resilient Community ALC, we center the needs of those most impacted by our actions. As such, we strive to place the needs of marginalized and oppressed groups over the comfort of others and invite our community to do the same. We do not tolerate the exclusion or mistreatment of anyone based on their gender, race, ethnic origin, disability, age, nationality or national origin, sexuality, gender identity or expression, religion or belief, marital status, familial status, or social class.
Though we welcome everyone, we prioritize the voices and concerns of marginalized members of our community.
